Mardi 7 septembre - l'école et le Cap Multisports

Today was our first day in school - and we were definitely the center of everyone's attention. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast in the school lunch room, prepared especially by the school chef, Monsieur Marquet, and then enjoyed the student introductions. During a tour of the school we saw the different classrooms and other facilities and had a little time left to look at the itinerary for the week, and to allocate the projects for the Travel Fair.
Our first school lunch was absolutely délicieux; a choice of salads (radishes or Belgian endive) or the charcuterie (cured meats) of the day for the first course, followed by melt-in-your-mouth pork braised in cider, served with green beans and sautéed carrots. Students also chose from a selection of cheeses or yogurt for the dairy course, and from fresh fruit or flan for the dessert. All cooked fresh, on site, and for less than 5 euros/day. I think we have some things to learn from the Collège Saint Michel de Liffré!

After lunch we jumped on a bus and went to the indoor sports club with a sand covered gym, Cap Multisports. The students, divided into two teams, competed in different competitive team-building activities - and the overall winner was .......... Norah Duritsa! Photos will follow
