Today we went to Les Champs Libres. Les Champs Libres is a beautifully-designed building that houses the Rennes library, a science museum and a historical Brittany museum. We spent our time in the science museum.
While being there, we had a lecture on different types of special effects. Our instructor showed us several films and revealed how their specific special effects were designed. Some special effects she shared were based off of slow motion, stopping and green screen. She also showed us how to make clouds by boiling water, pouring it into a glass container and adding dry ice. When she put the dry ice in the water, it created bubbles and the bubbles created a cloud.
After the lecture was finished, we had time to explore many of the hands-on science stations in the room. It was really cool to try the different stations, which included a solar-powered miniature plane mobile, a hand-steadiness challenge and a heat map. When we were out of time, we took the public bus back to Liffré.
As we arrived at the school, it was time for lunch. Lunch in Liffré has been very different from lunch at home. During lunch, we had fries, hamburgers, ice cream, water, etc. Every day we have had something different, and everything has been very good.
After lunch, we had time to play sports with our correspondents. One of their gym teachers organized basketball and volleyball for all of us. First, in basketball, we had free play and then split into teams. We played shooting games, 3-on-3 and then 5-on-5. It was very fun (and also very funny) to see everyone play. Then we played volleyball. I was very excited because I play volleyball at home. For volleyball, we split into new teams and had three games happening at the same time. In all, I thought today was a lot of fun for everyone.
